BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

It was sometime in 2000 that the Magbitang couple, Jorge and Adelaida conceived of establishing a school in their vacant lot at Quijano St, San Juan, San Ildefonso, Bulacan. It was their way of giving back to the community for the many blessings they have received from the Lord Almighty. Together, with the support of their close relatives, particularly the family of Ma’am Adelaida, the dream became a reality. MONTESSORI DE SAN ILDEFONSO (MDSI, for brevity) started its operations in June 2002. To prepare themselves to manage the school effectively, Mrs. Magbitang took specialized courses and trainings on Montessori education.

MDSI is now a growing private, non-sectarian educational institution in Bulacan. It is situated in a two (2) hectare spacious lot. The campus is surrounded by concrete fence and with four (4) steel gates for entrances and exits. The safety and security of the students and the employees is of utmost concern to the school management.

The school building follows the L-shaped style. The first main building, which was, constructed in 2001 houses the preschool and grade school classrooms. The additional four-storey building has twenty-eight classrooms which includes the Home Economics Room in the first floor, Science Laboratory in the Second floor, and the Computer Laboratory for the high school at the third floor. Guidance and testing center, and the Prefect of Discipline Office.

The school is the only educational institution in the community which is fully equipped with the state of the art educational facilities that conform to the standard requirements, like Home Economics Building with spacious laboratory, a Gymnasium and several sports facilities such as three(3) basketball courts, three (3) volleyball courts, a lawn tennis court and badminton court.

MDSI offers complete Basic Education Program from Kindergarten, Grade School, Junior High School and Senior High School. MDSI vows to continue to serve with utmost dedication and commitment with a passion for quality and excellence to all its students now and in the generations to come, through and with the guiding spirit of its Patron Saint, San Ildefonso.
